Piper Companies is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support an industry leader in American tobacco manufacturing for a permanent, hybrid role onsite twice a week based in Greensboro, NC. The Finance Business Partner will report directly to the Director of Commercial Finance and plays a critical role in driving commercial performance by partnering closely with senior Sales & Marketing leaders and cross‑functional teams.
Responsibilities- Lead local budgeting and forecasting processes with ownership of FMC P&Ls, CAPEX, and Net Working Capital.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance complex financial models and analyses using MS Excel, SAP BPC, and SAP Cloud Analytics to support dynamic forecasting, scenario analysis, and ROI assessments.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Sales, Marketing, Insights & Intelligence, People & Culture, and Research & Development to support financially sound decisions and identify revenue‑capture opportunities.
- Perform standard and ad hoc financial analysis related to volumes, pricing, product mix, cost of sales, net revenue impacts, COGS, and A&P spend.
- Create and improve standardized financial reporting packages, including monthly reporting, month‑end estimates, and volume and net revenue flash reports with integrated KPIs.
- Own and lead the development of performance indicators that promote accountability and improve business decision‑making.
- Build unit‑level economic metrics and assess the financial impact of strategic decisions on margin and ROI.
- Investigate, explain, and communicate variances versus forecast, plan, and prior periods, providing actionable recommendations.
- Drive scalable processes, standardized templates, and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency across finance operations.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives across financial processes, systems, and insights delivery.
- Enhance data management, validation, automation, and visualization using tools such as Power BI and Power Query.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong overall analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability in problem analysis, critical thinking, and financial storytelling.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
- Proven capability to work cross‑functionally with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to manage a fluctuating workload and work schedule as needed.
- Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with SAP and/or BPC platforms preferred.
- Experience in S/4 required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field with 10+ years of progressive leadership experience required, along with 5+ years in business transformation projects capacity.
- Salary: $170,000 USD per year
