The Role at a GlanceWhat you'll be doing
- Defines and advances the affiliate reinsurance strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives, product strategies, capital priorities, and long-term operational goals.
- Leads highly visible, cross-functional initiatives spanning Product, Pricing, Valuation, Accounting, Finance, Administration, and Technology to optimize reinsurance program processes and business outcomes.
- Serves as the subject matter authority on affiliate and existing external reinsurance, advising senior leaders on complex transactions, treaty structures, financial impacts, operational risks, and strategic opportunities.
- Evaluates and interprets reinsurance deal performance across the portfolio, integrating deal model outputs, financial results, settlements, and treaty provisions to identify trends, risks, and value-enhancing opportunities.
- Establishes governance frameworks, operating standards, and oversight practices for reinsurance administration, monitoring, reporting, and issue resolution.
- Directs the design and implementation of scalable reinsurance infrastructure, data, reporting, and monitoring capabilities to support ongoing business, regulatory, financial, and operational needs.
- Anticipates emerging business, regulatory, and market challenges impacting reinsurance activities and develops innovative solutions, process enhancements, and strategic recommendations.
- Serves as the owner and primary point of coordination for affiliate and existing external reinsurance knowledge management, audit engagement, organizational education and cross-functional alignment, ensuring sustainable oversight and informed decision-making
Must-Haves
- 12+ Years experience of finance experience that directly aligns to the specific responsibilities for this role
- 5+ Years of senior management experience in a large complex organization including influencing senior management and critical stakeholder responsibility
