Compensation & BenefitsThe City of Greensboro offers a competitive salary range of $65,532 – $86,226

The Project Coordinator performs technical and administrative work in project management, planning, construction oversight, and operational coordination across the city’s park system. This position supports the Public Space Development and Maintenance Division and collaborates extensively with other city departments, community partners, and residents to deliver meaningful, high-quality results.
Key Responsibilities- Manage multiple capital and operational projects across parks, trails, athletic facilities, playgrounds, cemeteries, marinas, gardens, and other public spaces.
- Oversee project design, bidding, contracting, construction, and completion.
- Evaluate project sites and prioritize improvements based on need and impact.
- Develop and manage project budgets, contracts, RFPs/RFQs, and vendor relationships.
- Coordinate with Engineering & Inspections and other departments on infrastructure projects.
- Support community engagement initiatives, representing the department at public meetings and stakeholder sessions.

, and Greensboro Downtown Parks, Inc. - Develop and implement strategic and work plans that align with departmental goals and the City’s Comprehensive Plan

- Assist in policy development, maintenance transfer coordination, and compliance tracking.
- Lead and guide City staff and contractors to ensure work meets safety, quality, and fiscal standards.
- Support large-scale downtown events and projects by coordinating staff and internal resources.
This role requires a strong commitment to public service, project management proficiency, and the ability to balance technical detail with big‑picture outcomes.
Minimum Qualifications- High School Diploma or G.E.D. and 4 to 6 years of related experience
