This position is for applicants that are currently or have been certified as a basic Parole and Probation Officer with at least one (1) year of parole and probation experience as a Parole and Probation Officer within the last five (5) years.

Compensation

Annual Pay Range: $ 75,944.87 - $96,306.17
Hourly Pay Range: $ 36.511957 - $46.301043
Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

Job Details And Qualifications

The Clackamas County Sheriff's Office, Parole & Probation Division is seeking experienced, qualified and motivated individuals for Parole & Probation Officer 2.
The Parole & Probation Officer 2 position is fully experienced and includes the use of limited peace officer powers. The position requires day-to-day interaction with adults on supervision using basic corrections knowledge and interpersonal communication skills and holds a current Basic Parole and Probation certificate. In order to be considered for Parole & Probation Officer 2, you must upload a copy of your certificate to the attachments section of the online application at time of application.

If your certificate is not received, you may not be considered for this position.
Parole and Probation Officers will be required to carry firearms issued by the Division in the performance of their duties.
The most competitive candidates will have knowledge of basic concepts and principles of social and corrections case and group work; criminal laws and criminal justice system; and demonstrated skills to effectively work with adults on supervision placed on parole and probation.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

All Sheriff's Office positions require a complete Statement of Personal History (SPH).
Only those applicants selected will need to submit the SPH. The SPH is due 10 calendar days AFTER you have been notified. Applicants will receive instructions from the Department of Human Resources or the Sheriff's Office on how to login to the electronic SPH.

Minimum Qualifications / Transferrable

Skills:

  • Must be currently or have been certified as a basic Parole and Probation Officer with at least one (1) year of parole and probation experience as a Parole and Probation Officer within the last five (5) years. Proof of certification must be uploaded with application materials in the attachments section.
  • Must possess a high school diploma, GED certificate of high school equivalency, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. Applicants who do not have a Bachelor's Degree must pass a reading/writing test to comply with Oregon DPSST standards. If you have a Bachelor's Degree or higher, please upload a copy of your transcript to show proof of degree earned.
