Cardiac Sonographer Registered Inpatient performs cardiac ultrasound procedures under the supervision of the department supervisor. The position delivers exceptional customer service by prioritizing patient safety, preferences, and effective communication. The role partners with patients, families, colleagues, and external stakeholders to deliver accurate cardiac diagnostics, patient-centered care, and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing routine and special exams consistent with established protocols with good diagnostic quality.
  • Analyzing test data and accurately communicating findings to reading cardiologists to aid in proper diagnosis and treatment planning, ensuring seamless collaboration between the sonographer and cardiologists.
  • Operating, troubleshooting, and requesting repair of all testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results, promoting patient safety and efficient workflow.
  • Maintaining professional and CPR certification to adhere to industry standards and ensure readiness to respond to any cardiac emergencies.
  • Administering image-enhancing agents as ordered to optimize echocardiogram quality.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Required:
    High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience: Required: 0-1 years in Healthcare - Ultrasound Training program
  • Licensure/Certification: Required:
    Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) from CCI; BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
