Salary: $80,000 - $95,000 per year.
About the RoleAs a Permanent Safety Manager, you will be the cornerstone of our commitment to safety and health. This dynamic role will see you taking the lead in the development, implementation, and maintenance of safety programs, protocols, and procedures. - Develop and implement company safety policies and procedures in line with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.
- Plan and implement training for employees in work site safety practices.
- Maintain safety files and records, conducting regular audits to ensure compliance.
- Inspect facilities, machinery, and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure safety regulation compliance.
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover causes and handle worker’s compensation claims.
- Recommend solutions to issues, improvement opportunities, or new prevention measures.
- Conduct safety meetings and training programs for employees.
- Manage and oversee the handling of hazardous materials (HAZMAT) and ensure adherence to Title V regulations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory bodies and manage all safety-related external audits.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Safety Management, or a related field preferred. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety role.
- In-depth knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices, including HAZMAT and Title V regulations.
- Experience with writing policies and procedures for health and safety.
- Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
- Proficient in MS Office; working knowledge of safety management information systems is a plus.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics.
- Demonstrable experience with writing reports and policies for health and safety.
- Ability to maintain a keen attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff at all levels.
