Description Of Work

The Program Coordinator - Medicaid School Policy serves as the subject matter expert and main point of contact to provide information about services that are provided and billed by Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to all stakeholders. This position relates to all grant‑funded program objectives to expand and improve schools’ capacity to provide physical and behavioral health services. This position provides policy leadership for the program, communicates with internal and external stakeholders, assists with program integrity oversight and plans for sustainability of the program.

Salary Grade Range: $64,211 - $105,949

Recruitment Range: $64,211 - $92,700 Grant Yr 2; $95,481 Grant Yr 3

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) / Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

  • Previous and proven work experience within clinical policy at NC Medicaid with strong understanding of Medicaid and federal requirements surrounding the provision of health services for beneficiaries under age 21, particularly those that are provided and billed by Local Education Agencies.
  • Masters or Bachelor's level clinical background in allied health (OT, PT, or SLP) or nursing (RN) and with experience in administrative or quality improvement procedures.
  • Ability to self‑direct, self‑motivate, prioritize, and perform job responsibilities independently or with minimal supervision.
  • Excellence with written and verbal communication skills to effectively translate complex medical and regulatory requirements into practical, clear and unambiguous policies and procedures.
  • Ability to understand and apply analytical and critical thinking skills for policy evaluation and quality assurance.
