JOB SUMMARYWe are seeking a Patient Service Associate for our Central Carolina Surgery clinic in Greensboro to serve as the first point of contact for our patients upon arrival for appointments. This role includes participation in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment scheduling.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Demonstrate the ability to greet and interact with patients with courtesy and professionalism.
- Assume full responsibility for new patients from the time of referral to the completion of the patient visit.
- Responsible for informing the patient of the level of customer service they can expect from CCS (offering to help the patient obtain copies of medical records if needed).
- Responsible for discussing finances related to their care and responding to any questions the patient may have regarding their initial patient appointment.
- Accurately schedules patients using established policies and procedures.
- Confers with the manager as appropriate to ensure patients are being seen in a timely manner.
- Data entry - enter demographics, insurance information, etc., into the practice management system.
- Ensure the patient is notified of the scheduled appointment and answer questions related to the new patient visit.
- Review appointments with patients to ensure understanding.
- Contacts referring offices to inform them of scheduled appointments.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities as requested by the manager.
- Serve as a backup for all other front office staff members and precertification specialist as needed.
- Minimum of one year of work experience in directly communicating and providing service to patients or public; preferably in a healthcare related field.
- Experience in effectively coordinating multiple tasks or activities.
The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
