Description of WorkSalary Range Update:
Effective February 1, 2026 – $33,902–$59,327.

Location:
Piedmont Correctional Institution, Rowan County, NC – Medium Custody Male Offenders.
Responsibilities
- Manage and perform all aspects of personnel.
- Oversee the recruitment process for new hires, promotions, lateral transfers, etc.
- Handle separations and leave of absences including FMLA, Short Term Disability, Extended Illness, and Workers Compensation.
- Serve as the point of contact for facility workers’ compensation claims, completing and submitting all claims to the Third Party Administrator and ensuring that incidents are captured on the OSHA Log/Summary.
- Oversee the time entry process for all full-time staff and monitor time reports/payroll; ensure time entry completion and policy compliance.
- Process requests for ADA and voluntary shared leave; process various types of personnel actions; oversee file maintenance of personnel files.

. State employees are encouraged to apply even if the salary grade is the same or lower. If selected, a new salary will be recalculated considering education, experience, funding availability, and internal equity, with a potential pay increase.
Associate’s degree in Human Resources or a relevant field, or high school/GED diploma with 2 years of progressive experience in Human Resources.
