The MES Senior Systems Analyst is responsible for understanding business requirements and designing, building, deploying, and supporting IT solutions and services across manufacturing and industrial automation environments. The role ensures that IT services required by customers are planned, delivered, and continuously improved within agreed service levels, leveraging service management best practices. This position supports core manufacturing operations, including MES, historian platforms, integrations, and operational workflows, to ensure reliability, efficiency, and compliance.
Reporting to the Manager, IT BP Application Development, the analyst partners with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, deliver enhancements, and maintain consistent operational service.
Core Responsibilities
- Understand business requirements and translate them into functional and technical designs for IT solutions and services.
- Support and maintain MES applications that enable production execution, quality management, and genealogy.
- Manage integrations between MES and ERP systems (e.g., material movements, production orders, BOM/routing data, inventory updates).
- Configure and administer MES transactional data, production workflows, and automation rules.
- Coordinate and execute MES enhancements, patches, upgrades, and required validation/documentation.
- Assist in planning and delivering new equipment integrations or production line technology changes.
- Administer and maintain historian platforms used to capture time-series process data (temperatures, pressures, cycles, equipment states).
- Ensure reliability of data collection from PLCs and MES data sources.
- Develop PLC data tags, historian calculations, and data retention policies.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in IT or systems support, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain environments.
- SAP ECC or S/4
HANA (Production Planning, Shop Floor Control). - MES configuration, troubleshooting, and integration with enterprise systems.
- SQL Server-administration, performance tuning, stored procedure development.
- Python scripting for automation, transformation, and integration use cases.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Greensboro, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.86 - $82.57/hr.
