Position: Senior Analytics Developer - Value Based Care

Job Profile Summary

The Value‑Based Care Analytics Developer, Senior designs, builds and optimizes data and analytics solutions that support the organization’s enterprise priorities and promote its value‑based care initiatives. This role develops analytical tools, data pipelines, and reporting solutions that drive insight into cost, quality, utilization, and risk under shared savings, capitation, and performance‑based payment models. This role demands technical proficiency in modern data platforms and analytics tools to power data‑driven decision‑making and benefits from healthcare domain knowledge across clinical, operational, and financial domains.

This role works collaboratively with our analytics product managers and analytics managers to understand user needs and build analytics products and solutions that are self‑service, automated, and scalable. This role supports other team members in their learning and development, works closely across the enterprise with key stakeholders, engages with CMS and national and regional payors, and regularly presents solutions, findings and recommendations to operational teams and leaders.

This role is part of our Value‑Based Care Institute (VBCI) products and analytics team and works with moderate supervision.

Essential Job Function
  • Analytics Development:
    Develop and maintain analytics products and solutions (datasets, reporting, dashboards) that deliver insights to claims, clinical, and operational data to assess performance in value‑based contracts, including monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) such as total cost of care, quality measures, risk scores, utilization, and shared savings metrics.

  • Monitor and optimize the performance of data management processes and analytics products and solutions, ensuring automation and alerting in performance monitoring.

  • Advanced Analytics Support:
    Develop and maintain analytics frameworks that support key value‑based capabilities such as member attribution, benchmarking, performance, stratification, and risk adjustment.

  • Understand and leverage a variety of data sources as required, support data management and data pipeline automation in partnership with data engineering and services teams and third‑party vendors including payors as needed.

  • Cross‑Functional

    Collaboration:

    Work closely with value‑based care analysts, analytics product managers, data science, and health economists to develop and execute user stories.

  • Partner with IT and data governance teams to ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance with applicable governance and organizational standards and policies.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree – required
  • Master's Degree – preferred
Experience
  • 4 years of experience in data analytics, data analysis, or data science.
  • Formal training or work experience in data analytics, data analysis, or data science.
  • Proven experience using data and analytics tools, with strong working experience using SQL and at least one analytics or visualization tool (PowerBI, Tableau, Sigma Computing, or other).
  • Experience working in a modern cloud environment (Snowflake and/or Databricks) and with modern data management tools.
  • Experience working with healthcare data types including claims data, payor revenue/premium data, payor supplemental data, clinical data including clinical quality metrics (HEDIS) and risk adjustment (HCCs), social determinants of health (SDOH), and operational data and KPIs.
  • Knowledge of and experience with electronic health records (EHRs, such as Epic, Cerner, eCW, Allscripts, Athena) and population health management platforms (such as Epic’s Value Based Care, Innovaccer, Arcadia, Lightbeam or other care management or population health platforms).
  • Understanding of clinical workflows and clinical operations as they relate to value‑based care and population health.
  • Genuine desire and curiosity to build analytics applications that wow users and reduce their burden in accessing and using data.
  • Deep commitment to continuous learning as part of a cross‑functional team that includes clinical and non‑clinical stakeholders.
  • Experience working within an agile delivery environment (Dev Ops).
  • Preferred:
    Knowledge of and experience with healthcare claims data and related claims analytics tools (such as Milliman’s Med Insight, Mede Analytics, Tuva or other claims analytics tools).
