Summary
EDI Business Consultant for the harmonization and rollout of the electronic data interchange (EDI) solution to the client customers.
The EDI Business Consultant will focus primarily on executing user acceptance testing of a new harmonized EDI solution. This role may also help troubleshoot and resolve production EDI ordering through invoicing issues on an as needed basis using their subject matter expertise.
Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter expertise and operational support to internal business partners
- Ensure communications to stakeholders to communicate resolutions to EDI related issues
- Develop process and system improvement recommendations for internal systems and workflows to help drive overall efficiency
- Develop and maintain both internal and client-facing documentation
- Assist with training and mentoring new hires, including gathering/developing training materials, developing training plans and initiating skills reinforcement as needed
- Troubleshoot and provide 3rd tier analysis, support and guidance on moderate to complex EDI issues
- X12: 850-Purchase Order
- X12: 855-Order Acknowledgement
- X12: 856-Advanced Shipping Notification/ASN
- X12: 810-Supplier Invoice
- X12: 824-Application Advice
- Serve as escalation point for developing the support process that includes monitoring of EDI processing and escalation
- Provide 3rd tier support for Onboarding of appropriate EDI solution

- Architect and design any modification of EDI solution and communicate to appropriate support teams; including design of testing and certification procedures.
Education
- Degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or Business.
Experience
- At least 3 years EDI work experience, preferable with the 850, 855, 856, 810 & 824 X12 transactions.
- Experience Planning and executing User Acceptance Testing and tracking using MS Excel and SharePoint.
- Good written and verbal communication skills with internal project team and external suppliers.
- Ability to manage several supplier rollouts and testing activities at a time.
- Competency in basic computer skills and using Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.).
- Detail oriented with ability to track and document User Acceptance Test cases.
- Extensive customer interaction experience 6 or more hours per day.
- Since most of the day will be on the telephone, professional phone presentation and etiquette mandatory.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience learning internal system functionality required to execute testing activities.
- Experience providing written & verbal statuses of testing progress and issues.
- Some accounting experience, especially accounts payable, highly desired.
Required Skills:
EDI Analyst- provide support, troubleshooting, and analysis for 850, 855, 856, 810 & 824 X12 transactions.
