Description Of WorkThe primary purpose of this position is to design, develop, maintain, enhance, document, and support computer applications for NC DHHS. This includes gathering requirements from users, designing databases and applications, programming, testing applications, implementing applications, training, and supporting users in the use of their applications. This work will involve maintaining superior customer relationships across the section and an understanding of the business functions and the technology components of the department.

- Agile frameworks like scrum or Kanban
This includes having the following:
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into specific software requirements
- Knowledge of general IT architectural principles, technical designs, and specifications.
- Ability to learn new software systems and programming languages by studying available references and self-paced training.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with non-technical clients.

Bachelor's degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and two years of experience in business application consulting or development; OR Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in application consulting or development; OR High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and six years of experience in business application consulting or development;
OR An equivalent combination of education and experience.
