Description Of Work

This is a temporary position and there are no leave or retirement benefits offered with this position. This temporary position is located at 1915 Health Services Way - Wake County. This position is assigned to DHHS Public Health. Temporary employees who work an annual average of 30 or more hours per week may be eligible for health insurance coverage under the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP).

Note:

Permanent and time-limited NC State Government employees must separate from their permanent or time-limited position in order to work in a temporary position. All temporary employees are limited to one NC State Government temporary assignment at a time. Individuals hired into a temporary State job must be fully qualified for the job. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay

Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $55.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed within this vacancy announcement will be used only as management preferences and will be used to screen for the most qualified pool of applicants.

Management Preferences
  • This position is required to help with support data modernization activities that will enhance access and use of public health data for state and local public health partners.
  • This role will facilitate data visualization and analyses that will enhance impactful use of data for locals and marginalized communities across North Carolina.
  • This role will also assist with the conversion of Tableau dashboards to PowerBI.
Minimum Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible IT business analysis, process improvement, or strategic systems work; or
  • Associate degree in business administration, computer science, or a related field and six (6) years of progressively responsible IT business analysis, process improvement, or strategic systems work, or
  • High school diploma or GED and eight (8) years of directly relevant experience, including significant enterprise-level or cross-functional leadership responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience leading to equivalent qualifications.
