IT Infrastructure Engineer V, Senior Container Platform

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an IT Infrastructure Engineer to lead our senior container platform initiatives in Greensboro, NC. In this role, you will design, build, and optimize Kubernetes-based container platforms to support scalable, secure applications. You will automate infrastructure using IaC, implement CI/CD integrations, and ensure high availability, observability, and compliance. Partner with security, development, and operations teams to define standards, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain scalable, secure Kubernetes-based container platforms
• Implement automation and Infrastructure as Code for provisioning and configuration
• Integrate container platforms with CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows
• Monitor performance, capacity, and reliability; implement observability best practices
• Harden container and cluster security in partnership with security teams
• Troubleshoot complex platform and networking issues in production environments
• Develop and maintain platform standards, documentation, and runbooks
• Collaborate with development and operations teams on architecture and best practices
• Plan and execute upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management of platform components
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
