IT Applications Engineer VI

Kaiser Permanente seeks an experienced IT Applications Engineer VI to lead Container Platform Operations. You will design, implement, and manage secure, scalable Kubernetes-based platforms supporting critical healthcare applications. Partnering with development, security, and infrastructure teams, you'll automate deployments, optimize reliability and performance, and ensure compliance. You'll provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and drive best practices in observability, incident response, and capacity planning to deliver resilient, modern application platforms that empower agile delivery across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, implementation, and operations of enterprise container platforms
• Maintain and optimize Kubernetes clusters for reliability, scalability, and security
• Automate deployments, configuration, and infrastructure using Ia
• C and CI/CD Collaborate with development, security, and infrastructure teams on platform needs
• Monitor platform health, manage incidents, and drive root-cause analysis
• Ensure compliance with security, regulatory, and governance standards
• Mentor engineers and establish best practices for container operations
• Plan capacity, performance tuning, and life-cycle management of platform components
