Senior Compute & Virtualization Administrator

Pay Range: $67.00 – $74.00 per hour (based on experience, geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills & internal equity)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Compute & Virtualization Administrator to own the reliability, lifecycle, security, resilience, and continuous improvement of enterprise server, virtualization, VDI, cloud compute, and disaster recovery platforms.

This is a highly technical, hands-on infrastructure role requiring deep expertise across VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, AWS EC2, and enterprise disaster recovery. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience and can independently lead complex incidents, infrastructure recovery, platform upgrades, and data-center activities.

• Own enterprise OS, virtualization, compute, VDI, cloud workload, and DR operations
• Administer VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Cisco UCS, Nutanix, and AWS EC2
• Manage VMware ESXi hosts, clusters, data stores, virtual switches, VLANs, capacity, and performance
• Lead incident response, RCA, vulnerability remediation, patching, and service restoration
• Perform hands-on data-center work including rack/stack, cabling, hardware installation/removal, diagnostics, RMA, and decommissioning
• Plan and execute platform upgrades, capacity reviews, DR exercises, failover, recovery testing, and corrective actions
• Manage Cisco UCS server profiles/templates and Fabric Interconnect network/storage connectivity
• Support infrastructure automation using Ansible, scripting, and configuration-management tools
• Coordinate platform integrations and changes across application, network, security/IAM, and data-platform teams
• Manage vendor/MSP escalations and maintain runbooks, architecture documentation, lifecycle plans, and technical standards

• 10+ years of progressive enterprise infrastructure or systems administration experience
• 5+ years administering enterprise server and virtualization platforms
• 3+ years supporting Disaster Recovery planning, failover, exercises, or infrastructure recovery
• Advanced VMware vSphere administration experience
• Experience installing/upgrading ESXi hosts and configuring host/datastore clusters
• Experience with virtual switches, VLAN configuration, capacity management, and performance management
• Advanced Windows Server 2016+ administration experience
• Advanced Cisco UCS administration, including server profiles/templates and Fabric Interconnects
• Experience with Nutanix AOS and enterprise x86 server hardware
• Experience supporting AWS EC2 workloads and platform integrations
• Experience with Ansible, scripting, automation, or configuration management
• Working knowledge of SAN, NAS, storage, and enterprise backup platforms
• Experience with ITSM, 24x7 operations, change control, patching, vulnerability remediation, major incidents, and RCA
• Strong technical documentation, stakeholder communication, and management-level presentation skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; or Associate degree/military/industry training with equivalent professional experience

• Experience with Red Hat Satellite
• Experience with Git Hub, Git Lab, or similar SCM platforms
• Experience supporting Horizon VDI and NVIDIA vGPU
• Knowledge of Windows Group Policy and DHCP
• Experience with HPC hardware and infrastructure monitoring platforms
• Familiarity with Dell Power Store, Isilon/OneFS, Avamar, Data Domain, and Cisco SAN switching
• Experience creating technical standards, runbooks, architecture diagrams, and lifecycle plans
• Strong infrastructure recovery and Disaster Recovery leadership experience
• VMware VCP, RHCSA/RHCE, Microsoft, and/or ITIL Foundation certifications
• Experience mentoring infrastructure engineers and supporting cross-training
