Senior Buyer - Cab Exterior & Body

What you will do

This Senior Buyer is accountable for the Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features (QDCF) of suppliers within the Cab Exterior & Body segment. You will be responsible for implementing the segment business plan through the selection of the right suppliers, and by continuously securing supplier QDCF performance using tools and the purchasing/cross‑functional network during production and post‑production phases.

You will be based out of our Greensboro, NC headquarters and will report to the Head of Cab Exterior PU NA.

• Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance, enhanced product quality, innovative technology, and maximum value
• Drive negotiations and executive agreements with suppliers within the Cab Exterior & Body segment
• Contribute to segment business plan and be an active member in the global network of Buyers
• Collaborate with other members of the global supply chain to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and technology strategies
• Use Volvo Production System (VPS) toolbox to drive efficiency across the supply chain
• Drive all relevant activities to deliver on Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Features targets (QDCF)
• Monitor, identify, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the Supply Network Quality (SNQ) team
• Monitor and analyze supplier capacity to proactively eliminate potential plant impacts and aftermarket part shortages
• Forecast cost evolution for scope of responsibility
• Manage and negotiate product/process changes during production and post‑production phases
• Perform daily purchasing activities related to production orders, logistics, and financial flows to the suppliers

• 6+ years of strategic purchasing experience (end‑to‑end supplier relationship management, sourcing, negotiations, contracts)
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent working experience)
• Experience with in the heavy manufacturing industry

For this position, the base pay is set at $95,625–$118,125 annually, with bonus eligibility where applicable. The range for this role, and the final salary offered, is determined by several factors including location, work‑related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience.
