Position Overview

The Sr. Inbound Logistics Specialist is responsible for executing and optimizing the flow of freight to our distribution network, influencing supplier decisions, and assessing logistics cost.
- Manage efficient flow of inbound freight from origin to distribution network.
- Develop and optimize supply methods, including emergency strategies, to meet delivery restrictions and changes.
- Proactively monitor shipments to anticipate and resolve issues before escalation.
- Compile background information on issues, create service issue plans, and finalize resolutions for matters such as mis‑shipments, chargebacks, and cargo condition.
- Initiate, investigate, and develop medium to long‑term planning strategies influencing supplier selection.
- Ensure correct carriers are used in accordance with routing and allocation guides, minimize dwell time, and maintain carrier relationships.
- Maintain key logistics reporting systems and perform quantitative and qualitative evaluations of logistics costs and structure.
- Investigate supply methods, including transportation, packaging, source of supply, and material flow for new or existing suppliers, and support new supplier selection processes.
- Lead cross‑functional project teams, represent Logistics in plant core teams, breakout teams, and other special tasks.
- Coordinate activities regarding Supply Concept development and reviews with suppliers, customers, and departments, ensuring positive interaction.
- Work closely with distribution centers to ensure smooth freight arrival and prioritization of hot‑load arrivals.
- Support documentation of all logistics procedures, including SOPs, onboarding documentation, and related materials.
- Engage in peer training within the internal Logistics team and educate outside groups on logistics processes.
- Develop regular status reports and indicators to measure assigned work activity.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
- 3+ years of experience in Logistics or Supply Chain, preferably with international logistics, transportation management, logistics procurement, and logistics planning.
- Advanced logistics skills, including the ability to develop mid to long‑term strategies, analytical thinking, and execute emergency concepts independently.
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office and advanced Excel.
- Project management experience with proven project leadership skills.
- Ability to work in a high‑pressure environment with changing priorities.
- Comfortable making decisions under uncertainty, pressure, and tight timelines.
- Works well with limited supervision.
- Expertise in prioritization to achieve key deadlines.
- Strong organization, math, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Proven experience providing best‑in‑class service to stakeholders and key partners.
- Windows‑based computer skills; strong Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required.
- Access/Power BI experience a plus.
- Experience using GT Nexus/Infor Nexus software beneficial.
- SAP experience beneficial.
