Job Overview

Reporting to the Category Director, the Senior Category Manager is responsible for managing demand management and supply activities for selected categories, optimizing total cost of ownership, managing supplier risk, ensuring adherence to timelines, and meeting business stakeholder needs. The role serves as a relationship manager with key business/executive partners to drive collaboration, prioritize business needs for contract support, and ensure engagement of resources across the organization to deliver supply value with effective risk mitigation.

Regular full‑time position. No full remote, no relocation assistance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Effectively develop and partner with Category Managers/Directors to implement category strategies for medium/high spend categories.
  • Develop deep understanding of category activity and global supply markets, competitors, and product innovations.
  • Build strong relationships with internal customers and industry suppliers, partnering with Business Leaders and Executives.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams in the development of category specifications, RFIs, RFPs, contracts, and sourcing project plans.
  • Perform market data analysis, lead high‑complexity sourcing events, and prepare commodity‑specific performance metrics and dashboards.
  • Execute the full sourcing process, including scope development, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, risk acceptance, and contract execution.
  • Drive improvement of vendor performance and optimize allocation of spend.
  • Promote risk excellence and sound risk management, driving bank‑wide policies and ensuring compliance with regulatory directives.
  • Actively manage project pipelines and ensure delivery to agreed timelines and expectations.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in sourcing (and related functions) with regulated organizations.
  • Knowledge of market, suppliers, and cost drivers; proven supplier relationship management.
  • Direct management experience of a sourcing/procurement team with strategic development responsibilities in financial services or heavily regulated industry.
  • Ability to learn content quickly and apply a strategic lens to category spend.
  • Strong engagement and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record of supplier consolidation and driving spend to preferred suppliers.
  • Subject matter expertise in strategic sourcing methodology and techniques.
  • Proficient analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Project management and time management proficiency.
  • Business acumen and negotiation/influencing skills.
  • Self‑motivated with executive presence and presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, Masters in Supply Chain, and industry certifications are preferred.
  • Broad experience across procurement, sourcing, and third‑party management.
Salary

Annual base salary range: $116,500 – $160,000.
