Sirius Staffing is seeking an experienced Indirect Sourcing Manager for a direct-hire opportunity in Greensboro, NC . This position will be based at a manufacturing facility and will work closely with the Maintenance and Engineering teams , supporting the sourcing and purchasing of MRO parts, technical equipment, services, and contractors needed to maintain plant operations.
The ideal candidate will bring strong MRO/industrial sourcing experience, SAP and Excel skills, and proven supplier and contract negotiation experience . This role combines hands‑on, day‑to‑day plant purchasing with strategic sourcing responsibilities, including supplier management, contract negotiations, cost savings, and inventory support. This role requires6+ years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or related experience, preferably within a manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or other plant environment.
Responsibilities- Review material requisitions generated through MRP and convert approved requisitions into purchase orders.
- Manage and update purchase orders, including pricing, delivery dates, order confirmations, and other purchasing information.
- Expedite critical orders and work with suppliers to ensure required delivery dates are met.
- Source and purchase MRO parts, technical equipment, maintenance services, and other goods and services supporting plant operations.
- Partner closely with Maintenance and Engineering to understand purchasing needs and support equipment reliability and plant operations.
- Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts, payment terms, and service agreements to achieve competitive pricing and favorable commercial terms.
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, service providers, and contractors.
- Prepare and evaluate bids and support the development, negotiation, renewal, and extension of supplier contracts.
- Establish new suppliers in accordance with procurement requirements and vendor qualification processes.
- Lead inventory reviews in partnership with the Maintenance team.
- Evaluate supplier and contractor performance and recommend changes to the approved supplier base when appropriate.
- Manage and maintain electronic purchasing catalogs and support e-procurement processes.
- Identify, track, and document cost-saving opportunities.
- Provide purchasing system support and troubleshooting to internal users.
- Support procurement policies, contract compliance, supplier prequalification, and other procurement initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred; a technical degree is a plus.
- 6+
years of purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or related experience - Strong experience with MRO purchasing/sourcing ,
within a manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or other plant environment. - Experience sourcing maintenance parts, equipment, technical services, and/or contractors .
- Strong hands‑on SAP experience , particularly within purchasing/procurement processes.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills and ability to work with purchasing, supplier, inventory, and cost data.
- Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier pricing, contracts, payment terms, and/or service agreements.
- Experience managing supplier relationships and evaluating supplier performance.
- Strong critical‑thinking, problem‑solving, organization, and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work effectively with Maintenance, Engineering, Operations, Finance, EHS, and other cross‑functional teams.
- Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team‑oriented approach.
- Ability to work with a sense of urgency and independently take ownership of purchasing and sourcing responsibilities.
- High level of quality and safety awareness.
- Must be a U.S. citizen; this position is not eligible for current or future employment visa sponsorship.
