Strategic Sourcing Manager

Description We are looking for a Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead procurement initiatives that strengthen supplier partnerships and improve cost, quality, and operational performance. This role supports manufacturing operations in Greensboro, North Carolina by building forward-thinking sourcing plans, guiding contract strategy, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong negotiation skills, sound market insight, and the ability to work cross-functionally to deliver measurable value.

Responsibilities:

- Design and execute sourcing plans that support business priorities, operational demands, and long-term procurement objectives.

- Assess current and prospective suppliers using factors such as pricing, product quality, service levels, delivery dependability, and overall business fit.

- Build productive supplier relationships that encourage collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

- Lead commercial negotiations for agreements, pricing structures, and terms to secure favorable outcomes while protecting company interests.

- Oversee supplier performance through structured reviews, scorecards, and corrective action planning when needed.

- Research market conditions, industry developments, and supplier capabilities to uncover innovation and savings opportunities.

- Partner with teams across operations, finance, legal, product development, and other functions to align sourcing decisions with company needs and compliance standards.

- Identify process gaps, reduce procurement inefficiencies, and implement improvements that strengthen sourcing effectiveness and cost control.

- Evaluate supply-related risks, including disruption, quality concerns, and market fluctuations, and develop mitigation plans to support business continuity.

- Advance responsible procurement practices by supporting regulatory compliance and supplier alignment with environmental, social, and governance expectations. Requirements - 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain leadership within a manufacturing environment.

- Demonstrated success negotiating contracts and commercial terms with suppliers while achieving cost and service objectives.

- Strong knowledge of procurement operations, purchasing workflows, and supplier management practices.

- Experience analyzing supplier performance, market conditions, and cost structures to support informed sourcing decisions.

- Ability to build effective partnerships with vendors and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders across the business.

- Solid understanding of risk management, contract compliance, and policy-driven sourcing practices.

- Proficiency in corporate procurement processes, buying activities, and purchase order management.

- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills with the ability to guide others on sourcing-related matters.
