Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Supply Chain Manager is responsible for the entire site supply chain from purchase of raw materials to receipt of raw materials, inventory control, lot tracing, shipping, as well as managing the warehouse.
Supply Chain Design and Optimization- Analyze and improve supply chain processes to reduce costs and increase efficiency.
- Implement technology and automation to streamline operations.
- Oversee supplier selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management.
- Ensure the timely procurement of quality materials at competitive prices.
- Monitor inventory levels to maintain a balance between supply and demand.
- Implement strategies to reduce excess inventory and minimize stockouts.
- Work with production teams to ensure manufacturing schedules align with demand forecasts.
- Optimize production processes for cost efficiency and minimal waste.
- Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution to ensure timely delivery of products to customers.
- Optimize shipping routes and methods to reduce costs and environmental impact.
- Identify potential risks in the supply chain (e.g., supplier dependency, geopolitical issues) and develop contingency plans.
- Ensure business continuity during disruptions.
- Monitor supply chain expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
- Ensure operations stay within budget while meeting quality and service standards.
- Oversee the adoption of supply chain management software, AI, IoT, and analytics tools.
- Use data to track KPIs, such as lead times, order accuracy, and cost savings.
- Ensure that products and services are delivered on time and meet customer expectations.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to address supply chain-related issues.
- Incorporate sustainable practices into supply chain operations, such as reducing carbon emissions and using ethical sourcing.
- Lead, train, and develop supply chain staff to improve overall team performance.
- Foster a collaborative work environment across departments.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree or related experience
- Ability to provide conflict resolution
- Must be able to handle conflict, negotiate, and discipline as necessary.
- Communicate and cooperate with all employees in a positive manner to ensure maximum quality and productivity is maintained.
- Problem-solving ability
- 3-5 years' experience in a related field
- Understanding of SAP systems
- Experience arranging transportation activities
- Experience with operational planning
- Material acquisition and purchasing experience
- Understanding of hazardous waste disposal rules and regulations
