Position Summary
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Logistics and Pickup Assistant to support our Pickup and Logistics Manager in the collection and transportation of donated furniture and other large items. This individual will also assist in transporting and baling clothing donations between our store locations and warehouse. This is a physically demanding role that requires a positive attitude, team spirit, and commitment to the mission of Freedom House.
Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading furniture donations from donor homes
- Safely transport items between donor sites, stores, and warehouse
- Help process and bale clothing for distribution or recycling
- Communicate professionally with donors, representing Freedom House with respect and gratitude
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in trucks and warehouse areas
- Perform other related tasks as directed by the Pickup/Logistics Manager
Qualifications
- Clean driving record required (CDL not required)
- Able to lift and move heavy items (up to 75 lbs) regularly
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
- Forklift certification is preferred but not required
- Punctual, dependable, and respectful
- Team player with a strong work ethic
- Supportive of Freedom House’s Christian mission
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience with furniture moving, warehouse work, or delivery driving
- Familiarity with Greensboro and surrounding areas
