- Hourly Employment
:
Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays. - Limited Hours
:
Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period. - Pension System
:
Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.
While roster positions do not include benefits, they are often a pathway to full-time, benefited employment with the City. Many of our current full-time employees started in roster positions, and we encourage you to explore this opportunity as a potential first step in your career with us.

Your role is crucial in maintaining cleanliness and readiness for all events and daily operations.
Duties include:
- Prepare the facility(s) for opening by completing such duties as cleaning and sanitizing of restrooms, offices, hallways, lobby, food prep area and meeting rooms.
- Perform tasks such as, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning floors, windows, walls, woodwork and fixtures, emptying trash & recycle bins.
- Assist with event set-ups and break-down of event related equipment such as tables, chairs, etc.
- Utilize the following tools; wet mop, bucket/wringer, microfiber cleaning cloths, dust mops, brooms, dust pans, janitorial cart, vacuum cleaners, hip vacuum, warning wet floor signage, scrapers, floor scrubbers, floor sweepers, various cleaning chemicals, etc.
- Responsible for requisitioning necessary cleaning supplies to the supervisor.
- Applicant should be able to read and follow instructions and must maintain a reliable means of transportation to work locations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Shifts may vary between 5 am to as late as 1 am mainly weekends early morning and late evenings. This position is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.
What You BringMinimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver’s License (“OR” Reliable means of transportation)
- 1 year of related experience in housekeeping
- Prior experience operating janitorial equipment
- Previous work-related experience in a large commercial/building environment
- Customer Service experience
- Basic computer skills
- Experience operating floor care machines/scrubbers
- Experience with event setup and breakdown
