A lathe machine is used to shape cylindrical work pieces by rotating the material against a cutting tool. Before operation, inspect the machine and ensure all safety guards are in place. Secure the workpiece firmly in the chuck and select the appropriate speed and feed rate. Start the machine and carefully perform the machining operation while monitoring the cutting process. After completing the work, switch off the machine, wait for all moving parts to stop, remove the workpiece, and clean the machine.

Always wear safety glasses, avoid loose clothing, and follow the manufacturer's operating instructions.

A Machine Operator operates and monitors industrial machines to produce parts or products according to production specifications. The role involves setting up equipment, performing routine inspections, maintaining quality standards, and following workplace safety procedures.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience operating manufacturing or industrial equipment is preferred.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read technical instructions and blueprints.
• Good attention to detail and quality control.
• Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift materials when required.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Work is typically performed in a factory or manufacturing environment. May require shift work, including evenings, nights, weekends, or overtime. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection is required.
