Clinical Assistant Professor-Nursing Leadership

Primary Purpose Of Position

The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a clinical assistant/associate professor focused on Nursing Leadership. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses.

Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring, and recruitment, curriculum development, and engagement in program assessment and accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate students in nursing leadership, supervise and support DNP student projects, and provide service to the SON, college, and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations.

Our program offerings include the Bachelor of Nursing (BSN), Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN), and RN to BSN pathways, supported by faculty who are expert clinicians and educators using cutting-edge technology to provide nursing education grounded in current theory, research, and evidence-based practice.

• Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in nursing (DNP or PhD).
• Demonstrates pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to nursing leadership.

• Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s educational requirement.
• Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for Nursing Leadership.
• Nurse Educator Certification.
• Skills with Blackboard LMS, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office Support Software preferred.

Applicants must hold a current unrestricted license as a registered nurse in North Carolina or have eligibility to obtain a North Carolina Registered Nurse License.
