Temporary Advanced Practice Provider

Position Overview

The Advanced Practice Provider in Student Health Services provides high-quality, culturally competent healthcare to students, promoting academic success and personal development. Responsibilities include prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic conditions, health education, and collaboration with campus partners.

• Provide direct patient care for a wide range of health concerns, including acute illnesses, chronic conditions, mental health support, and preventive care.
• Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and develop treatment plans.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Prescribe medications and therapies in accordance with state regulations and institutional policies.
• Educate students on health maintenance, disease prevention, and lifestyle choices.
• Maintain accurate and confidential patient documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Masters or Doctoral degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in primary care and/or student health.
• At least 2 years of experience in college health, family medicine, or urgent care; ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
• Commitment to student-centered care and health equity.
• Proficiency in EHR systems and telehealth platforms.

• Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in North Carolina.
• BLS certification.

• Employees are generally required to reside within a 2-hour commute in North Carolina.
• Position is temporary, full-time, exempt under FLSA.
