12‑hour shifts, nights (7p‑7a), PRN – as needed. Holidays and weekends may be required.

Join our team in a 33‑bed Behavioral Health Unit specializing in adult and geriatric patients. Our unit operates with a nurse‑to‑patient ratio of 1:6‑1:9 and treats a variety of diagnoses including Major Depressive Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Substance Use Disorder. Patients may present with psychosis, suicidal ideation, homicidal ideation, mania, or other mental‑illness exacerbations.

• Accurately perform patient assessments and identify patient needs
• Identify and initiate appropriate nursing interventions
• Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient
• Perform timely and appropriate documentation related to medical necessity in the medical record
• Complete and revise the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient
• Perform timely and accurate QI assessments

• Current North Carolina or compact state Registered Nurse license and an associate’s degree from an accredited nursing school
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire
• AHA ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire
• One year of experience preferred
• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
