American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Infusion Center position requiring prior infusion and outpatient oncology experience, ONS/ONCC certification, and Epic proficiency.
Details- Hospital-based infusion center setting
- Outpatient oncology unit serving patients with solid tumor cancers, lymphomas, chronic leukemia, iron deficiency, myelodysplastic syndrome, and neuro-oncology diagnoses
- Specialized procedures include bone marrow aspirations, intravesicular chemotherapy for bladder cancer, and intrathecal chemotherapy
- Specialized equipment on unit includes Cyracom interpreter machine, blood warmer, Hoyer lift, vein finder, and ultrasound-guided IV machine
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Day shift, 5x8 hours with variable start times between 8:30 AM and 9:30 AM
- Charting system:
Epic (required) - Travelers may be floated to any campus within the health system as needed
- Active NC or compact RN license currently in hand
- Required certifications: BLS and ONS/ONCC (chemo certification)
- Preferred certifications: ACLS and OCN
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
- Prior infusion center and outpatient oncology experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Prior charge RN experience preferred
- Teaching hospital and community hospital experience preferred
- Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers will not be considered
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
- Two professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration
- Current driver's license required
- Must be able to pass a pass/fail EKG exam (2 attempts allowed)
- Core clinical skills include IV therapy and infusions, port access and management, central line care, PICC line care, blood and blood product administration, chemotherapy administration (IV push, continuous, and oral), biotherapy, and management of cytotoxic spills
- Oncologic emergency management skills expected, including acute tumor lysis syndrome, anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, and sepsis
- Psychosocial care responsibilities include patient and family education, symptom management, and support around advanced directives and hospice care
- All RNs must pass a compliance EKG exam regardless of specialty; study materials are not provided by the facility — candidates should prepare in advance
- Orientation includes non-billable unit-based modules averaging 2–4 hours
- Zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
- Any requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application; no post-submission RTO will be accepted
- Third-party education verification required; degrees from schools on the Florida Diploma Fraud Audit list are not accepted
- No open background check cases permitted
