American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience.

• Work in a hospital's Med/Surg Telemetry unit
• Primarily Med/Surg patient population on a tele-capable unit
• Patient conditions include observation, respiratory issues, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative/end of life/hospice, psychiatric observation, diabetes management, and surgical/surgical observation patients
• Patient ratio of approximately 1:5-6
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00am-7:30pm
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding compliance (two attempts allowed)
• Current driver's license required to verify address for local candidate policy

• Provide direct patient care to a diverse Med/Surg population including surgical, respiratory, diabetic, and palliative/hospice patients
• Skills utilized may include IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, blood product administration, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, oxygen administration), wound care, and cardiac monitoring/dysrhythmia management
• Telemetry monitoring performed both on-unit and remotely
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility as local candidates are not accepted
• RTO requests must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission time off requests will be accepted
• Non-billable onboarding modules averaging 2-4 hours are completed during orientation
