American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position requiring a minimum of 2 years of ED experience and Epic proficiency, with first-time travelers welcome to apply.
Details- Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital environment
- General ED serving combined adult and pediatric patients
- Level I and Level II Trauma Center designation
- STEMI and Stroke certified facility
- Patient ratios of 1:4-5 depending on staffing and volume
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00pm-7:30am
- Weekend requirement of 2 shifts or 4 weekend days per 6-week period
- Holiday coverage required as needed
- No on-call responsibilities
- Uses Epic EMR system
- Floating to any campus within the health system may be required
- Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand at time of consideration
- Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
- Preferred certifications: CPI, PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department RN experience required
- Epic EMR experience required
- Previous Charge RN experience preferred
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Skills in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
- Experience with triage and isolation precautions/PPE
- Provide emergency nursing care across a broad patient population including trauma, cardiac, neurological, and pediatric cases
- Care for patients with conditions such as CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and gunshot wounds
- Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance, with up to two attempts allowed
- Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for the travel rate
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
- Third-party education verification is required as part of compliance
