American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring 2+ years of experience and Epic EMR proficiency.

• MS/Tele unit in a hospital setting with a primarily Med/Surg patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:6
• Cares for observation patients, respiratory conditions, general medical surgical diagnoses, palliative and end-of-life/hospice patients, psychiatric observation, and diabetic patients including complications
• Manages surgical and surgical observation patients
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active NC or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and NIHSS certifications preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience preferred
• LTAC experience preferred
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding (two attempts allowed)
• Skills in BiPAP/CPAP management, chest tube care, IV therapy, blood product administration, PICC line management, colostomy/ileostomy care, feeding tube management, cardiac dysrhythmia interpretation and management, wound care/wound vac, and pre/post hemodialysis management preferred
• Current driver's license required to verify address

• Provide direct patient care across a diverse Med/Surg Tele population including telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Utilize skills such as isolation precautions/PPE, wound care, and rapid response/code team activation
• Support renal patients including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
• RTO must be submitted with the initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
