Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients undergoing dialysis procedures, including hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, in a multi-campus healthcare environment. Ensure patient safety and compliance with all clinical and regulatory standards during treatment.
Responsibilities:
- Administer hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and apheresis treatments to patients with renal and hematologic conditions.
- Monitor patients continuously using telemetry and central cardiac monitoring stations, ensuring prompt response to any clinical changes.
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment procedures, risks, and post-care instructions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, assessments, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including infection control, equipment sterilization, and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure treatment efficacy.
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in good standing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in dialysis or a critical care/medical-surgical setting.
- Proficiency with EPIC EMR system required.
- Ability to pass the Pass/Fail EKG exam, with up to 2 attempts allowed.
- Flexibility to work 3×12 night shifts, including rotating weekends and float between campuses.
- Strong knowledge of dialysis equipment, including Baxter Amia PD and Spectra Optia Apheresis devices.
