RN IV Vascular Access

Cone Health is seeking an experienced RN IV Vascular Access to provide expert vascular access assessment, insertion, and maintenance across our acute care settings. This role performs ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICCs, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, and educates patients and staff on line care and infection prevention. The RN supports Cone Health's compassionate, inclusive culture while contributing to quality initiatives, including CLABSI reduction.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive vein assessments and place peripheral IVs, midlines, and PICCs using ultrasound guidance
• Maintain and troubleshoot vascular access devices, including dressing changes, declotting, and line patency management
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to determine appropriate vascular access plans
• Educate patients, families, and staff on vascular access care, infection prevention, and complication recognition
• Document all procedures, assessments, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives focused on CLABSI reduction and vascular access best practices
• Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for staff on vascular access procedures and protocols
