SATU Registered Nurse

Mission Health is seeking a SATU Registered Nurse to provide compassionate, trauma-informed care to sexual assault and abuse patients in Asheville, NC. In this role, you will perform forensic exams, evidence collection, triage and ongoing assessment, administer medications, and coordinate multidisciplinary care with physicians, advocates, and law enforcement. You will educate patients on treatment and follow-up, maintain accurate documentation, and uphold legal and ethical standards.

• Provide trauma-informed nursing care to sexual assault and abuse patients
• Perform forensic examinations and evidence collection per protocol
• Conduct triage, assessment, and ongoing monitoring of patient status
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as ordered
• Collaborate with physicians, advocates, and law enforcement partners
• Educate patients and families on care plans, resources, and follow-up
• Document assessments, interventions, and forensic findings accurately
• Maintain chain of custody and adhere to legal and ethical standards
• Participate in on-call coverage and rapid response to SATU cases
• Engage in ongoing training and quality improvement initiatives

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification

• Knowledge of evidence collection and chain-of-custody procedures
