American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a 26-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years of experience and a passing EKG exam score.

• Med/Surg unit with tele capabilities, primarily caring for a Med/Surg patient population
• 1:6 patient ratios
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 7p-730a
• Every other weekend and holiday rotation required
• Charge RN shifts required as needed
• Floating required across any Cone Health campus as needed
• 26-week contract only, no 13-week option available

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) in hand
• BLS required, NIHSS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Previous Charge RN experience required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during onboarding compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Skilled in blood product administration, peripheral line care, and starting/maintaining IVs
• Experience with Heparin, Insulin, and PCA administration
• Experience with nasal cannula and isolation precautions
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, and management
• Experience utilizing Rapid Response/Code teams
• Prior travel nursing experience required

• Provide direct patient care including respiratory support, GI care, and medication administration for Med/Surg Tele patients
• Utilize Rapid Response and Code teams as needed for patient emergencies
• Non-billable compliance modules completed during orientation, averaging 2-4 hours depending on unit
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility, no local candidates accepted
• RTO must be submitted with initial application; no post-submission RTO requests accepted
• First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
