Description:

This position is for a Registered Nurse in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. The unit has 16 beds with patient ratios of either 2:1 or 1:1. Occasionally, the ratio may be 3:1, depending on patient acuity. RNs are the primary caregivers in this unit; there are no unit secretaries or patient care technicians. Key equipment utilized includes Ventilators, Telemetry systems, Baxter IV Pumps, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy, and Impella devices.

Experience with hypothermia management is also beneficial. Documentation is completed using Cerner. Schedulers require 36 hours per week, with alternating weekends and 12-hour shifts. Travelers may be required to float to other areas. ICU experience is required for this position. Desired skills include proficiency in IABP, Impella, and CRRT. Procedures performed in this unit include Cardioversion, Central Line Insertion, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy, Bronchoscopy, Chest Tube Insertions, Pericardiocentesis, and Thoracentesis.

Dress code stipulates navy or navy and white scrubs. No pullovers or hoodies are allowed, and green scrubs may only be worn if soiled. Candidates can expect a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
