Job Opportunity – Pediatric Oncology Nurse – North Carolina
Start Date: August 26, 2026
Location: Asheville, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day and Night Shifts available. Day shift includes 4 RNs, 1 charge RN, 1 RT, and 1 PCT. Night shift maintains comparable staffing. Schedule includes 6 weekend shifts per month (2 Saturdays). Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5 based on acuity.
Highlights:- 19-bed combined Pediatric and Oncology unit serving patients in a Magnet-designated, 815-bed regional medical center
- Specialized focus with 13 pediatric beds and 6 dedicated oncology beds, always staffed with at least one oncology-trained nurse daily
- Work with Cerner EMR and Alaris pump technology in a team of 22 experienced nurses
- Part of the region's only children's hospital within a Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center
- Opportunity to provide care in a facility recognized among America's top 1% hospitals for clinical quality and patient safety
- May float to PICU or NICU based on unit needs
- Current RN license in North Carolina (or ability to obtain)
- Previous pediatric hospital experience required
- Pediatric oncology experience strongly preferred
- BLS and PALS certifications required
- APHON certification required for oncology assignments
- Detail-oriented, organized, and compassionate approach to patient care
