- Hourly Employment
:
Roster positions are paid hourly and do not include benefits such as medical, dental, or vision insurance, life insurance, paid leave, or paid holidays. - Limited Hours
:
Roster employees may work up to, but no more than, 1,000 hours in a 12 month period. - Pension System
:
Roster positions are not eligible for membership in the city’s pension system.

We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic individual to serve as an Athletic Field Maintenance Worker who is passionate about building better lives and a better community. Perform daily operations and maintenance of athletic fields, grounds maintenance and park operations including mowing, cleaning, repair and maintenance of facilities and janitorial work.
Duties to include:- Maintain grounds by weeding, mowing and fertilizing lawns; plant, water, trim and prune landscaped areas consisting of bushes, trees, flowers, shrubs and lawns.
- Rake leaves and clear debris from walks, fields and other facilities.
- Inspect parks and facilities for repair needs; review maintenance needs with assigned supervisor; perform minor maintenance and repairs to fences, bleachers and sprinkler systems.
- Operate various landscape and construction equipment including power and hand tools, mowing equipment, rakes, pitch forks, weed eaters, brooms, chain saws and other related equipment; maintain tools and equipment; adhere to safe work practices.
The physical duties of the job include but are not limited to; bending, stooping, and heavy lifting up to 50lbs. Ability to follow written and oral instructions and work independently.
This job is Non-Exempt under FLSA policy.
Minimum Qualifications:- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid Driver's License
- Experience in turf/grass maintenance operations and athletic fields.
- Prior work experience operating powered turf maintenance equipment and hand-powered equipment.
- Experience in mowing equipment and maintenance operations
- Strong customer service skills
