Position Summary
The primary purpose of this position is to perform maintenance to the primary campus of the University of North Carolina Greensboro. The duties and responsibilities are as follows:
- 30% – Specialized Horticulture Pruning, Disease and Pest identification
- 20% – General Overall Campus Grounds Upkeep, Cleanup and Tidiness
- 10% – Fertilizer and Pesticide Application
- 10% – Landscape Plant Installations and Maintenance
- 10% – Skills in use of Machinery, Tools and Equipment
- 10% – Crew Lead
- 5% – Hardscape paver maintenance
- 5% – Irrigation system maintenance
This position is a mandatory position as defined in the Adverse Weather and Emergency Event Policy.
Minimum QualificationsHigh school or General Educational Development diploma and two years of progressive experience in horticultural work; or associate's degree in agriculture and natural resources, greenhouse and grounds maintenance, horticulture technology, landscape gardening or closely related field from an appropriately accredited institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Additional Required Certifications, Licensures, and Certificates- Valid NC Driver's license
- NC Pesticide Applicators License or ability to acquire within six months
- 3 years experience in Horticulture.
