- Perform thorough quality evaluations of parts leading up to final part approval, using appropriate inspection and measurement techniques.
- Schedule onsite meetings with suppliers to review problem details, agree on improvement plans, and follow up on implementation and effectiveness.
- Support department needs by working flexible hours, including off-shifts, weekends, and overtime as required, and traveling to domestic and international supplier locations.
- Experience in quality engineering, quality assurance, or supplier quality within a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment and collaborating with OEM suppliers.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including planning, tracking, and reporting on supplier-related quality activities.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of manufacturing processes and part design.
- Hands-on experience with quality trials, inspections, and audits for new product development and launch.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis and define effective countermeasures for quality issues.
- Familiarity with PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) and new product development launch activities.
- Understanding of plastic components and related manufacturing and quality considerations.
- Knowledge of quality management systems and standards such as ISO 9001.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, drawings, and supplier quality reports (e.g., QANs).
