Advanced Personnel Resources is currently recruiting for an experienced Food Safety & HACCP Coordinator for a highly respected food manufacturing organization in Reidsville, NC
.
This is a Direct Hire opportunity offering a competitive salary, stable first-shift schedule, and the opportunity to play a key role in facility food safety and quality programs.
Salary: $55,000–$75,000 annually
Schedule: 1st Shift – 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Position OverviewThe HACCP Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, maintaining, and supporting the facility’s Food Safety, HACCP, SSOP, and quality assurance programs. This position works closely with Production and Food Safety/Quality leadership to ensure regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, employee training, and proper monitoring of critical control points.
Key Responsibilities- Review and evaluate daily HACCP and Food Safety programs, including monitoring and verification of Critical Control Points.
- Ensure HACCP documentation is complete and reviewed prior to product release.
- Investigate deviations and verify appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
- Lead monthly internal HACCP audits and track documentation errors, missed checks, and critical-limit deviations.
- Develop and conduct food safety and HACCP training for employees and leadership.
- Coordinate annual HACCP Plan reassessments and update plans and documentation as needed.
- Review SSOP records, pre-operational inspections, and operational sanitation documentation.
- Maintain accurate HACCP, SSOP, and food safety records.
- Assist with regulatory inspections, product testing, and documentation requests.
- Monitor regulatory updates, directives, and notices and assist with implementation of changes.
Support environmental microbiological monitoring programs. - Participate in third-party and regulatory audits.
- Support mock recalls/stock recovery exercises and other food safety initiatives.
- Spend approximately 25% of working time on the production floor monitoring and verifying food safety systems.
- Provide leadership support within the Food Safety/Quality department as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of Quality Assurance, Food Safety, or related food manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles, SSOP requirements, food safety programs, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to interpret regulatory notices, directives, and other technical documentation.
- Strong critical-thinking, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Understanding of food manufacturing processes and how production activities relate to HACCP and SSOP requirements.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Production, Quality, Operations, and regulatory personnel.
- Must be able to obtain Basic and Advanced HACCP certification through a HACCP Alliance-certified program.
This position combines office responsibilities with regular time in a food manufacturing environment. Candidates should be comfortable working on the production floor and wearing required PPE when necessary. Some schedule flexibility, including occasional weekends or alternate shifts, may be required to support food safety operations.
