SummaryThe Regional Sales Manager, or RSM, is responsible for directing all sales efforts within the assigned territory, including new & used OEM product sales, rental activity, and allied sales initiatives (attachments, batteries, etc.). The RSM also manages the sales staff and ensures the growth and profitability of the company’s material‑handling market share.
Essential Functions- Develop a business plan, manage assets, improve processes, and oversee budgeting and sales units and dollars.
- Drive the growth and profitability of the sales and rental market share to meet company expectations.
- Direct, motivate, develop, and manage the performance of the department’s staff to achieve overall market share, profit, and business plan goals. This includes training, coverage planning, account development, call monitoring, reporting, compensation planning, and performance evaluations.
- Manage Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) for all sales transactions in the territory, ensuring collection on all sales.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with Hyster‑Yale and other supplier partners.
- Collaborate with other department managers to uphold customer service excellence.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
This position includes supervisory responsibilities over a sales team in a designated territory.

Education and Experience- Preferred background: high school with technical training or a four‑year degree in a technical discipline (engineering, technology, business, marketing, etc.).
- Successful prior experience as a Sales Manager with consistent target achievement.
- Commitment to continuous education, evidenced by developing a high‑performing sales team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close.
- Strong business sense and experience in an industrial environment.
- Excellent mentoring, coaching, and people‑management skills.
- Ability to travel at least 20% of the time.
A current, valid driver’s license is required and must be maintained at all times.
Computer SkillsExperience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and database systems is required; prior Salesforce experience is preferred.
