Position Summary

The Sales Coordinator provides dedicated front-end support to the sales organization, helping Account Managers respond to leads, develop opportunities, support proposals, and efficiently support moving projects through the early stages of the sales process.

The Sales Coordinator will work closely with Account Managers, Design, Marketing, and manufacturer partners to ensure opportunities are followed up on, properly qualified, and supported with accurate information and competitive solutions.

Pay structure: $45,000 plus quarterly bonus up to $1,875/quarter

In office expectations:
The Sales Coordinator will work in the Greensboro office five days per week during the first year. Upon consistently meeting core competencies and performance goals, there may be an opportunity for one remote workday per week, based on manager approval and business needs.

Primary Responsibilities
1. Sales Opportunity & Proposal Support
  • Support Account Managers with front-end sales activities from initial opportunity through proposal and project handoff.
  • Prepare quotes for furniture and flooring using established pricing resources, contracts and guidance.
  • Support proposal documents and presentation materials for Account Manager.
  • Coordinate sample requests and maintain accurate product and finish resources.
  • Bid and RFP support
  • Assist with gathering product pricing, discounting, and applicable contract pricing.
  • Compile and organize required information and documentation for bid submissions.
  • Coordinate bid requirements, questions, and deliverables with the Account Manager.
2. Lead Management & Sales Development
  • Own the initial management of inbound sales leads from receipt through qualification and assignment to an Account Manager.
  • Conduct timely initial outreach to new leads by email to understand the client's needs and determine the appropriate next step.
  • Maintain accurate lead information and activity in the CRM.
  • Support targeted-account prospecting by researching companies and decision makers and building prospect lists using Zoom Info and other resources.
  • Track lead activity, qualified opportunities, and lead-to-meeting conversion.
3. Product & Pricing Support
  • Gather pricing, product information, lead times, and availability from manufacturers.
  • Assist with pricing comparisons for bids and negotiated opportunities.
  • Maintain and update sales pricing resources, including the Steelcase CDA spreadsheet.
  • Develop product and pricing expertise to become a trusted resource for the sales team.
4. Sales Team Support
  • Support Lunch & Learns, product demonstrations, showroom visits, and other sales activities.
  • Maintain sales collateral and product resources in coordination with Marketing.
Performance Expectations
  • Respond to 95%+ of new inbound leads within one business day.
  • Maintain 100% of assigned leads accurately in the CRM.
  • Consistently complete initial outreach and qualification activities.
  • Meet established turnaround expectations for quotes and proposal support.
  • Maintain accurate and current pricing and product resources.
  • Provide reliable and timely support to Account Managers.
  • Demonstrate increasing product and pricing knowledge throughout the first year.
Qualifications Required
  • 1–3 years of experience in sales support, customer service, inside sales, project coordination, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable communicating directly with customers and prospects.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CRM and other sales tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new products, systems, and processes quickly.
Preferred
  • Experience in commercial furniture, flooring, construction, architecture, design, or a related industry.
  • Experience with quoting, bids, or RFPs.
  • Familiarity with commercial furniture manufacturers and products.

Industry experience is preferred but not required. The ability to learn the industry, understand client needs, and become proficient in product and pricing resources is critical to success in the role.
