Position SummaryThe Rebuild/Equipment Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of mechanical and electrical work related to the remanufacturing, repair, installation, and servicing of commercial laundry equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency. The role is hands‑on, technically demanding, and requires up to 50% travel to customer sites or other Tingue locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on commercial laundry equipment.
- Dismantle machines and remove components for repair or replacement using hand tools, power tools, chain falls, jacks, and forklifts.
- Reassemble equipment following repairs or maintenance, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and functionality.
- Set up, test, and operate machines; adjust controls and systems to regulate proper operation.
- Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and extend service life.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, and service documentation.
- Identify worn or defective components and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate service records, repair documentation, and parts usage reports.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA guidelines while working in shop and field environments.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and customers to resolve technical issues efficiently.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn new equipment, systems, and technologies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support business operations.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with basic to intermediate electrical knowledge.
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, mechanical, and operational issues.
- Proficiency using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and customer interaction.
- Dependable, safety-conscious, and detail‑oriented.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel up to 50% as required.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (driving record review required).
- Ability to pass a mandatory drug screening.
- Prior experience in industrial maintenance, equipment repair, or a related technical field preferred.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, kneeling, and reaching (including overhead).
- Ability to work in confined spaces and industrial environments.
- Regular pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting/carrying up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to drive for extended periods in and travel as required.
- Must be able to perform job duties safely.
