The Service Technician II is an intermediate-level skilled position responsible for
independently performing a wide range of roofing repairs, maintenance, and service work. This technician demonstrates proficiency across multiple roofing systems, leads smaller service teams, and handles complex troubleshooting and repair situations with minimal supervision.
- Independently perform complex roofing repairs and maintenance across various roofing systems.
- Lead and coordinate small service teams, including Service Technician I and Service Helpers
- Conduct comprehensive roof inspections and accurately diagnose difficult-to-identify leaks and issues.
- Develop detailed repair plans and material requirements for service projects
- Install, repair, and replace advanced roofing components including complex flashing details, drainage systems, and penetrations
- Perform expert-level application of roofing materials on various roof types (shingle, metal, flat, tile, etc.)
- Identify and resolve underlying structural issues that affect roof performance
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, including recommendations for repairs or replacement
- Document work with thorough reports, photographs, and measurements
- Communicate effectively with customers about complex roofing issues and repair options
- Provide accurate estimates for small to medium-sized service projects
- Train and mentor Service Technician 1s and Service Helpers
- Ensure compliance with all safety standards and company protocols
- Maintain inventory of service vehicles and order materials as needed
- Respond to and effectively manage emergency leak calls
- Coordinate with other trades when necessary (HVAC, electrical, etc.)
