Estimated Hiring Salary Range: $43,755 - $57,573 Full Salary Range: $43,755 - $78,299 Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Work Schedule:

Monday
- Thursday (6:30a - 5:00p) "or" Tuesday
- Friday (6:30a-5:00p) This schedule is subject to change during a holiday week or for emergency service which may require working a flexible schedule with little or no notice and may include weekends, nights, or holidays. This employee will be assigned to the snow and ice removal program and will be subject to working 12-hour shifts during winter or other weather-related events.

The City of Greensboro is seeking a Crew Leader to lead a small field crew responsible for asphalt installation, pavement repairs, utility cuts, and pothole repairs on public streets and City property. This is a working supervisor position. You'll spend your time in the field alongside your crew while also planning, organizing, coordinating, and reporting on assigned projects. About the Role:

The Crew Leader is a working supervisor responsible for leading a small crew of approximately two employees in construction and maintenance activities.

You will report to a Section Supervisor and be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and reporting assigned work in support of the overall Field Operations work plan.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead a two-person crew performing asphalt installation and maintenance activities.
  • Repair utility cuts, pavement failures, and potholes on public streets and City property.
  • Plan and organize assigned projects and daily work activities.
  • Coordinate crew activities to support the Field Operations work plan.
  • Operate and work around construction and maintenance equipment.
  • Become proficient with the City's patch unit and other specialized equipment.
  • Provide working supervision and direction to assigned crew members.
  • Follow established safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare accurate work reports and documentation.
  • Use work management systems such as EAM/WFM to document and track work.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, crew members, City staff, and the public.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions and exercise sound judgment in the field.
  • Respond to emergency and after-hours assignments as required.
  • Participate in the City's snow and ice removal program.
  • Perform physically demanding work, including standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, walking on uneven surfaces, shoveling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain dependable attendance and a reliable means of communication for on-call responsibilities.
