Industrial Electrical Foreman

Department: Operations

Description

The Morgan Corp. Industrial Division is an industrial contractor that self-performs all major trades in industrial markets (power, water/wastewater, water infrastructure, mining, etc.) throughout the Southeast. We pride ourselves on performing quality work safely by developing and executing the best plan.

We are currently searching for an experienced Industrial Electrical Foreman.

The electrical foreman reports to the superintendent and leads an electrical crew to execute the work plan with a high level of safety and quality. This includes daily planning for the crew, including safety needs, equipment, tools, and materials. It also includes identifying potential roadblocks and working with the superintendent to develop solutions.

The foreman shall have a strong technical grasp of their craft and the ability to lead and communicate effectively with their crew.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reading and interpreting plans and specifications.
  • Working with the superintendent to develop and implement work plans.
  • Have a good understanding of computer software programs, such as Microsoft Office.
  • Motivate and direct craft employees to meet work goals.
  • Support weekly schedule updates and labor hour projections.
  • Daily labor and equipment crew.
  • Author and submit daily reports.
  • Evaluate the skill level of craft workers and provide/coordinate training for employees.
  • Perform routine safety, environmental, and quality inspections.
  • Ability to identify and correct unsafe conditions.
  • Supervise electrical system installation, troubleshooting, and repair as needed.
  • Ensure adequate equipment, tools, and materials are planned for the upcoming work activities.
  • Compliance with local and NEC electrical codes
  • Possess and implement Morgan Corp.’s social contract.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

10 to 15 years of electrical construction work.

In-depth knowledge of:

  • Power systems up to 6000v (15kv preferred)
  • Control systems
  • RGC and PVC conduit
  • Cable tray
  • Duct banks
  • Cable pulling
  • Cable terminations
  • Gear installation
  • Grounding

Trade School Certification or an Associate Degree in electrical-related fields is highly valued.
