This role is based in Greensboro, North Carolina, and requires you to work on‑site at Volvo Financial Services’ North American Headquarters.
What you will be doing:- Providing technical leadership and mentorship, setting architecture, engineering, and operational best practices while actively contributing hands‑on.
- Translating business needs into technical architecture, roadmaps, and key design decisions, including trade‑off analysis.
- Designing and implementing scalable end‑to‑end enterprise architecture on platforms like Salesforce and Azure aligned with enterprise standards.
- Leveraging established Design Authority to enforce standards, governance, and best practices across teams.
- Leading integration of operational systems, analytics platforms, and AI/ML use cases.
- Ensuring team designs application architecture that guides product development, emphasizing reuse of business components and adherence to modern architectural principles aligned with the North Star principles and vision.
- Overseeing Life Cycle Management (LCM) of application/systems vulnerabilities and ensuring alignment with Volvo Group Security directives.
- Proactively identifying architectural issues and concerns and defining pragmatic and appropriate solutions.
- Making fact‑based architecture decisions, assuring maximal business value with minimal effort, while keeping the total cost of ownership as low as possible.
- Maintaining a continuous improvement mindset; willing to challenge status quo and dissent when needed.

What you will need:- A relevant engineering degree (preferably Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science) with experience in managing large, complex enterprise environments.
- Designing REST APIs, event‑driven APIs, and microservice architecture in a cloud‑based environment. Experience with modernizing legacy applications to use newer technologies and architecture.
- Minimum of five years of experience leading technical teams and a minimum of 15 years of industry experience, preferably in captive or financial services, with a track record of delivering high‑impact, high‑visibility work.
- Leadership experience managing teams and taking ideas from concept to production, with real autonomy and responsibility.
- Hands‑on experience with Azure Cloud, J2EE/.NET Technology Stack, Data and AI platforms, architectural frameworks and Agile practices including Azure Dev Ops.
- Strong communication skills demonstrated interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees, leaders, customers, and other stakeholders.

Base pay for this position ranges from $ to $ annually, with bonus eligibility where applicable.
